There is a clear societal need for low-cost solar cells (devices that convert sunlight to electricity). Conventional solar cells are expensive, in part, due to the high temperatures required in their fabrication. The talk will discuss some alternative device structures and materials can be exploited to fabricate solar cells at/near room temperatures.
