People

Akshay Naik received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park, in 2006. He then worked at Caltech first as Postdoctoral Associate from 2006 to 2008 and then as Research Engineer from 2008 to 2011.  In Dec 2011, he joined the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore where he is currently an Associate Professor at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering. His research interests are physics and the application of Nano-mechanical systems.

Sanket Jugade

Sanket completed his BTech in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal in 2018. He joined the group as an intern during his final year and later as a Project Assistant after completion of his degree. He is a Prime Minister Research Fellow and is currently working on indentation experiments on suspended 2D materials using Atomic Force Microscopy.

 

Sudipta Nayak

Sudipta Nayak completed his BSc and MSc(Research) from Indian Institute of Science, specialising in Physics. He has worked as intern in several places like ICTS, Bangalore and ANU, Australia. He joined the Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering as a PhD student in 2020 and has been awarded Prime Minister Research Fellowship.His current interest lies in exploring non-linear dynamics and other phenomena that occur in nanoscale systems.

 

 

Pratip Ghosh

Pratip completed  B.Sc. in Physics Honours from Maulana Azad College, University of Calcutta and completed his M.Sc. in Physics from University of Calcutta ( Rajabazar Science College). He joined the Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering as a Ph.D. student in August,2020. His current research interests are Opto-NEMS.

 

 

Manavendra Pratap Singh

Manavendra completed his BSc from University of Allahabad in 2017 and MSc in Physics at Department of Physics, IIT Patna in 2019. He was a summer intern at Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar in 2018 and worked as a project associate at Department of Physics, IIT Madras in 2019-20. He joined the Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering as a PhD student in January, 2021.

Deya Ganguly

Deya Ganguly completed her BSc. in Physics in 2019 and MSc. in Physics in 2021 from University of Calcutta. She has been an Undergraduate Research Associate in Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics from 2017-2019. She has joined Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering (CeNSE), IISc in August, 2021.

 

 

Purna Pal

Purna is a joint PhD student with Prosenjit Sen and her interests are development of CSAC.

 

 

 

Rishab Navaneet

Rishab completed his BSMS Dual Degree in Physics from National Institute of Technology Agartala in 2023. He joined Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering as a PhD student in August 2023

 

 

Saurabh Kumar Gupta

Saurabh Kumar Gupta received his MSc degree in Physics from the Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi, in 2021. He then worked as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at CSIR-CEERI, Pilani, from 2022. Currently, he is working as a Project Associate at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), IISc Bangalore. His current research interests include nanotechnology, with a focus on MEMS and NEMS-based sensors and devices.

Kishan NS Jadav

Kishan completed his B.Tech in Electronics and communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2021. His expertise lies in Electronics hardware and embedded design and has past experience as a Hardware Design Engineer from Bharat Electronics Limited. He has also worked on Physical Design in VLSI. He joined Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering as a Project Associate in April, 2024. He is currently working on Design and development of electronics hardware architecture for nano sensor technologies

Riya Das

Riya completed her B.Sc. in Physics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2022 and M.Sc in physics from IIT Bombay in 2024. She joined Centre Of Nanoscience and Engineering as a PhD student in August 2024.

 

 

Jai Samarth

Jai Samarth completed his BSMS Dual Degree in Physical Sciences from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali in June 2024. He joined the Center for Nanoscience and Engineering at IISc in August 2024 as a PhD student. His current area of research focuses on microwave-to-optical signal transduction
