Industry Affiliate Program

This program is engineered to bring industry on board at CeNSE and work with them as extended teams. This initiative has increasingly become a critical component of our innovation system with multiple high-tech industries joining hands with us. IAP members at CeNSE get handheld privileges of facility usage, consultancy & research projects with faculty, training, student internships, networking, distinguished lectures and visits to CeNSE and IISc.

Services

CeNSE has quite a variety of services to offer. These include,
i. Training: We offer various trainings on Microfabrication, includes theory and hands-on-training, training on various equipment like lithography, etching, etc. Please visit our INUP portal for individuals users interested in our trainings and our IAP webpage for industrial collaborators.

ii. Project Execution: Projects can be executed from start to finish at our centre, with access to all facilities we have including the National Nanofabrication Centre, the Micro and Nano Characterization Facility, the Systems and Packaging Lab. So far, a few projects including the development of gas sensors and pressure sensors have been executed.

iii. Product Development: The facility access along with the expert guidance from the faculty allows for the execution of a product development. So far, many products including, a CVD reactor, kW lasers, soi moisture sensors, ventilator, neutron sensors, flow cytometer, MEMS gyroscope have been developed.

v. Consultancy: We offer consultancy for your project needs regarding the fabrication, characterization and further development of the projects, through the experts available at the department.

Student Profile: We create India’s best talent for semiconductor fabrication technology and nanoscience. We award Masters and PhD degrees. We also have highly qualified staff members with deep hands-on experience. Semiconductor is an interdisciplinary technology, so our students and staff come from all streams of science and engineering, like electronics, power engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, physics, and chemistry.

Skills: Our students and staff will have hands-on experience in thin-film deposition, lithography, wet and dry etching, electrical measurements, microscopy, and process integration. Depending on background and interests, students may also have expertise in structure-property correlations, VLSI design, equipment design, and circuits. All our academic programs have significant lab and project components to develop hands-on skills.

Target Industry: Our target employers are industries in any area of semiconductor technology, like foundries, equipment manufacturers, material or sub-assembly suppliers, services, or design. Typical sectors include advanced logic, memory, sensors, displays, photonics, lasers, electronic systems, OEM, IoT, and solar cells.
