Microelectrode arrays have been fabricated and characterized using the facilities available at CeNSE. These show comparable performance with commercially available devices.
In order to achieve better recordings from neuronal cultures, efforts are being made to develop nano-needle gated FETs which would allow intracellular recordings. These needles have been fabricated and their biocompatibility and mechanical stability has been verified.
